Sonder

Engineer and Level Designer

Sonder is an environmental puzzle game in which the player uses a gravity pen with multiple abilities to solve puzzles. Our team worked on this project over the course of two months. I ensured that the project was functional as well as designed and programmed all of the gravity pen mechanics. I also assisted in designing our puzzles and programmed and implemented them in Unity.

Secrets of a Lost World

Engineer and Level Designer

Secrets of a Lost World is a linear, narrative driven, puzzle game. Our team worked on this project over the course of two and a half months to create a small game with the theme of sustainability. I made sure the project stayed on track to be completed, worked on the gameplay functionality, and designed both of the alternate endings in the game. I also did all of the lighting and particle systems in the game.

Sims 4 Mod - Gamer Mod

Engineer

Gamer Mod for Sims 4 adds several “Real World” games for your sims to play! Not only that, but the games also can give you additional skill bonuses. We added two new gaming consoles, the PS5 and Xbox Series X, to play these new games on. We also added a microphone and a dual-screen monitor that can be used. For example, playing Overcooked will help your sim level up in video games and cooking, which was not previously a feature when playing video games in the Sims. For this project I was an engineering lead. The parts I developed solely myself were two skills to gain experience at once, adding the games to be playable, and making sure the games unlocked at the right level.

Out of Time

Engineer & Designer

Out of Time is a time limit based, narrative driven game. Myself and one other designer made this game over the course of two weeks to test our ability to have a compelling story that changes based on things you collect in the game. In the game you explore various environments and pick up items that reveal more about the story before you run out of time.

Misplaced

Developer

Misplaced is a game in which you play as a child that has been kidnapped and is being held in a research facility. You must find a way to get the documents about your parents and escape so you can find them. I made this game as a short, prototype project to test my ability to create an environment that could tell a story.

Spaghetti Time

Engineer

This project was made for a micro game jam with the theme being food. Every team’s game at the end was combined into a WarioWare style game. Over the course of 12 hours, our team created a six second mini-game called Spaghetti Time. It was very challenging to create such a short game that was also engaging and followed all of the guidelines so it would mesh with all of the other existing systems. I did all of the programming, animations, and implementation in Unity.

VR Projects

Adrift

Engineer & Level Designer

Google Cardboard VR Game

Adrift is a VR horror game made for the Google Cardboard. In this game you are on a spaceship with a monster coming for you. You interact with the world by staring at things for a time, and you can move around the map with teleport nodes. We were able to make working builds of the game for IOS and Android. I programmed item intractability, the enemy AI, and the audio.

VR Sword Training!

Lead Level Designer

HTC Vive VR Game

VR Sword Training! Image

VR Sword Training! is a prototype game made for the HTC Vive. You utilize different weapons in a training setting. You can pick up weapons, walk around, and destroy the environment.

Stop Crying!

Engineer

Oculus Quest VR Game

Stop Crying! Image

Stop Crying! is an Oculus Quest game prototype that our team made to demonstrate our abilities on making a functional game with the Quest platform. I programmed all of the mechanics for the game.

Save The Planets!

Engineer & Level Design Lead

Google Daydream VR Game

Save The Planets! Image

Save The Planets! is a prototype game our team made for the Google Daydream platform. This game demonstrated our abilities to make a mobile VR game. In this project I set up the planets in the environment and worked on the code for the game, specifically asteroid re-spawning.

Custom Controllers

Accessible Controller

Developer

This is a prototype controller I designed and created for a specific person to help with their accessibility needs. I had to do research and talk with them to identify what they needed in order to make battle royale games more accessible for them. There is no gameplay, the video just demonstrates that the controller does work. The visual interface was made in Unity. One of the challenges of working on this project was creating a controller within a week. This is my fourth and final project of four experimenting with building controllers using Arduino technology for games.

Fast Track

Engineer & Designer

This was a prototype project to create a semi-real controller for a more in-depth game in Unity. My team and I created a train game where you play as the conductor. One lever is the emergency break, the other controls speed. The goal is to pick up passengers from the train stations and wait for them to board. The faster you get there, the more money you gain. I did all of the programming for the project and built my own controller. The controller in the video is mine. One of the challenges of working on this project was creating a controller within a week. This is my third project of four experimenting with building controllers using Arduino technology for games.

Testing Arduino with Unity

Developer

I made this game as a prototype project to test my ability to create a simple controller using Arduino and getting it to work with a game that I created in Unity. This controller was a little more complicated as it uses a more complex input, a pressure sensor. This is my second project of four experimenting with building controllers using Arduino technology for games.

Testing Arduino with Processing

Developer

I made this game as a prototype project to test my ability to create a simple controller using Arduino and getting it to communicate with an already existing Processing game. I did not create the processing game, but I did create the controller and the code to get it to work with the game. This is my first project of four experimenting with building controllers using Arduino technology for games.

Non-Games

Git Gud Studios Website

Engineer

This project is a website my team and I made to demonstrate our abilities as full-stack web developers. In this project I assisted with the design. I also was the sole programmer for our user database, comments database, dev note page, profile page, and ensuring everything was functional. Some of the skills I used include - HTML and JS, CSS, PHP, AJAX, and MySQL with MySQLi.
